Vitis labrusca × Vitis viniferaCatawba grape is a red spicy flavor grape. This fruit is medium size, round and purplish red with a very distinctive flavor. This grape is a very good table grape, excellent for jams, jellies and for homemaking wine. The second year after planting they will produce fruit. This purplish red grape ripens mid to late September. Not only are they a rich source of vitamins, but they contain essential minerals like potassium, calcium, and iron.

This Catawba Grape Vine ships Bare Root as a Single Plant or a 3 Pack.

Size: Can reach a mature height of 5 - 7'ft tall and 8 - 10'ft wide spread.

Characteristics: Hardy and vigorous grower, self-fertile and Vines produce coppery-red seedless grapes from late September to October. Grapes don't ripen once picked.

Growth Rate: Moderate

Soil & Water: Grapes will grow in a wide range of soils, but do best in deep, well-drained sandy loam with a pH of 5.5 to 6.5.

Should plant 8-10’ apart in well-drained loamy soil.

Plant your grapevines in your own backyard in full sun. Arbors or trellises on the south side of buildings can also provide good sites for grapes.

Grapevines can create a striking garden accent and you will soon be picking these wonderful grapes in your own yard.

Plant in the spring and prune heavily in late winter for abundant fruit-bearing vines.

Grapes don't ripen once picked, so wait until the color deepens and the flavor is sweet.

Requires a strong trellis, fence or arbor for support.
