Cornus kousa 'Elizabeth Lustgarten' - Lustgarten Weeping Dogwood has a rounded, weeping habit with cascading branches. In late spring it produces showy clusters of white flowers with white bracts held atop the branches. The flowers will last for several weeks, in the fall it is covered in an abundance of magnificent crimson berries. The pointy leaves turn an outstanding brick red in the fall. The peeling gray bark adds an interesting dimension to the landscape. This variety of Dogwood is vigorous and tolerant of most soils except very wet or dry. It has green foliage throughout the season.
Lustgarten Weeping Chinese Dogwood is a multi-stemmed deciduous tree that has a shapely form and gracefully arching branches. It will require occasional maintenance and upkeep, and should only be pruned after flowering to avoid removing any of the current season's flowers. It is a good choice for attracting birds to your yard.
