The Prunus Persica 'Elberta'- Elberta peach is one of the most popular of all the peaches. Dark pink to purple blossoms bloom in the spring before giving fruit to juicy, yellow freestone fruit with velvety crimson-blush skin. Though this semi-dwarf is a self-fertile variety, as with most self-fruiting trees, having multiples or different varieties increases crop production. The Elberta is also known for having a smaller pit to fruit ratio, making it an excellent eating, canning, freezing, and jam peach.
