Size: Mature size can reach up to 20'ft high and 15'ft wide.

Characteristics: This shrub grows in an upright and arching manner, blooming clusters of vibrant red flowers in the spring and summer lasting for 3-4 months at a time. Attracts hummingbirds, bees and butterflies. Plant your Crape Myrtle where it will receive full sun in fertile, moist, well-drained soil. Pruning should be done in late winter or early spring before growth begins. Responds well to shaping into either a small tree or shrub.

Growth Rate: Medium to fast

Soil, Water & Fertilize: Adapts to a variety of soils like loam and clay soils and is drought tolerant once roots are established. Prefers average well draining, moist soil with a pH of 5.0 - 6.5. Removing spent flowers will prolong blooming periods.

Susceptibility: Leaf spot, aphids and powdery mildew.
