The Prunus Pendula 'Pendula Plena Rosea' - Double Weeping Cherry is an ornamental tree native to Japan and is recognized as one of the most cold, heat, and stress tolerant varieties available. It is relatively long lived and has a moderately fast grow rate. The flowers are double pink in umbrels of 2-5 blooms and about ½ in diameter, appearing from March to April, before the leaves emerge. New bronze leaves appear as the blooms fade and mature to green. Like most ornamental cherries, it is a very showy tree while in bloom and is known for its beauty.
