15 oz biscuit dough
3 chopped apples
2 cups water
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
If using premade biscuits use small biscuits or cut large biscuits. 15 oz of dough should make about 20 dumplings. Roll out dough thin. Fill with chopped apples. Pinch seam and place seam side down in 13x9 casserole dish. Place with dumplings touching.
Add water and sugar to a saucepan. Heat over medium heat stirring constantly. Heat to slow boil, let boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat, stir in cinnamon and vanilla. Pour over dumplings slowly. Spoon syrup over each dumpling.
Bake in preheated oven for 40 minutes. At 20 min, spoon syrup over each dumpling and repeat when baking is finished. Enjoy!
