The Acer x Freemanii - Autumn Blaze Maple is one of the most popular new tree introductions in history. It provides brilliant fall color without the mess and maintenance. Very disease resistant, they’re not bothered by car exhaust and don’t drop seed pods. They are also very strong trees, resisting ice damage and high winds.

Full sun to partial sun.

Drought tolerant once established.

Size: Mature size can reach 40'-50' high x 30'-40' wide

Light: Full sun

Characteristics: Green leaves become a coveted brilliant orangey-red in the fall. Grows in an oval shape with ascending, densely growing branches.

Hardiness zone: 3 - 8

Growth rate: Fast

Soil, Water, Fertilize: Moist, well draining soil. Keep moist but not soggy. Prefers slightly acidic soil. Fertilize once before planting if needed.

Resistance: Insect, Deer and mildly disease resistant

*We cannot send plants to Alaska or Hawaii.

*Plants ship dormant in winter months.

Regular pruning is recommended to keep this fast growing tree from getting too top heavy.

Roots are shallow growers, do not plant near flower beds or any other structures.

Provide regular watering during the first year of planting.

Best to plant in spring or fall to encourage root growth, but if extreme temperatures aren't an issue, can be planted all year round.

Received my plants!!!!!

Received my plants. The leaves on top of the plants appeared as if they had a rough trip. No big deal. Other than that, the trees look healthy. The trees were taller than I expected, but that is awesome since these were purchased for some sun protection (when they get bigger) for the front of our home. I’m looking forward to the beautiful fall foliage that these trees will eventually provide.
