Prunus Persica Var. NucipersicaKarla Rose is a white flesh freestone with deep red skin. Fruit is large, sweet and juicy. Cold hardy and tolerates late frosts. The medium-sized fruits are blushed with red and the juicy, white flesh has a sweet, traditional nectarine flavor. Karla Rose Nectarine is well adapted to the Coastal and Lower South and into the reaches of Zone 8. It tolerates late frosts better than some nectarine varieties. Its blossoms are white to light pink. Its semi-freestone fruits ripen in June.

Requires 600-700 chill hours. Self-fertile. 

Full sun to partial sun.

Attracts birds, bees and butterflies.

Pink flowers, fragrant

Characteristics: Self pollinating. Ripens June- July and is a semi-freestone. Has a chill hours (CU) requirement of 600-700. (Chill hours are the average hours of air temperature between 32° and 45° F in a typical winter season.)

Growth Rate: Medium growth rate reaching a mature height of 15'-20'ft. Plant trees 15-20 feet apart

Soil, Water, Fertilize: Prefers well draining, fertile soil with a pH of (6.0-7.0) Fertilize in late spring/early summer. Young trees need half as much fertilization as mature trees.
