The Carya Illinoinensis - Pecan tree is the state tree of Texas!  The United States produces 80% of the worlds pecans making it very valuable nut. Highly nutritious as they are sodium-free and contain more than 19 vitamins and minerals, as well as 18% protein content. They make for wonderful pies, ice creams or just as a snack!
