The result of a chance cross-pollination between the Chinese holly and the English holly, though its popularity was not by chance. This large, pyramidal plant, capable of reaching over 25'ft high, wide adaptability, and ease of maintenance. Thriving on either neglect or poor growing conditions, the Nellie R. Stevens Holly quickly became a favorite for gardeners and those in search for a privacy screen or hedge.
