The Prunus x Yedoensis 'Shidare Yoshino' - Shidare Yoshino Weeping Cherry Tree is a unique accent tree well-known throughout most of the United States and Japan. Though grows upright in a vase-like shape with arching branches at a young age, once mature the dark bark structure quickly begins to take shape and the branches begin to droop in a weeping fashion. Featuring millions of small, showy, porcelain pink to white blooms covering the bare structure of the tree in spring. Followed by green foliage in the summer that later becomes shades of orangey-red in autumn, this ornamental cherry tree will be a dream come true in your garden.

This Weeping Shidare Yoshino Cherry tree comes in a 1 Gallon pot

Size: Mature size can reach 15'- 20' x 15'- 25'

Hardiness zone: 5 - 8

Characteristics: Grows in a canopy shape from a single trunk with cascading arching branches. Blooms small pink to white flowers in the spring on bare branches. Leaves appear green in summer and later change to orangey-red in fall. Low maintenance.

Growth Rate: Moderate to fast

Soil, Water, Fertilize: Rich, loamy, well-draining soil with the pH 6.0 - 7.0. Tolerant to different types of well-draining soils and drought once established. Cover the surroundings with a layer of mulch to retain moisture. Water when the season is extremely dry with little to no rain. Pruning is not recommended, though can be done in late winter to early spring during dormancy if necessary. Fertilize in early spring.

To plant a Yoshino weeping cherry tree, choose a sunny location with well-drained soil, and dig a hole twice the width of the root ball. Make sure to water the tree thoroughly after planting to help it establish strong roots and provide consistent care for its graceful weeping branches.
