The Corylus Americana - Hazelnut trees are a nut producing tree. Hazelnuts often used in coffee creamers and desserts. This tree will grow like a shrub if not pruned. Hazelnuts do best in moist sandy or loamy soil and can even grow in shade. Although if you are looking for high yield of nuts, you will want to plant in full sun. The nuts are covered in a husk that is easy to pop off by hand. The wildlife will love this tree!
