Acer rubrum 'Magnificent Magenta' - Burgundy Belle is a red maple tree native to the state of Wisconsin with a compact, rounded oval form, symmetrically growing branches and outstanding fall color. The foliage starts off a medium to dark green during the summer, turns a brilliant red in late September and fully matures to an intense burgundy in October. This maple is smaller on all accounts compared to other red maples and makes for a cleaner specimen all together for your lawn or in rows along your property. 

Full sun to partial sun.

Native to North America

Size: Mature size can reach 45’ x 35’

Hardiness zone: 4 - 8

Characteristics: Grows with a dense, compact, rounded oval crown, symmetrically growing branches and outstanding fall color. Foliage starts off a medium to dark green during the summer, turns a brilliant red in late September and fully matures to an intense burgundy in October.

Growth Rate: Moderate

Soil, Water, Fertilize: Tolerant to all soil types including soggy, flooded, heavy clay and urban soil. Prefers more alkaline soil. Fertilize once before planting if needed.

Suggested Uses: Erosion control, specimen, very wet areas

Best to plant in spring or fall to encourage root growth, but if extreme temperatures aren't an issue, can be planted all year round.

Provide regular watering during the first year of planting.
