Acer Rubrum - October Glory Red Maple in an improved cultivar over the Red Maple. The October Glory Maple is a fast growing landscape tree that requires minimal care and matures quickly.  In spring they boast glossy green leaves that turn to a radiant red in late fall. October Glory's will display red foliage well into fall while other trees are already bare. They are hardy all the way down to zone 3 and will promise color in warmer climates. 

Full sun to partial sun.

Attracts birds, bees and butterflies.

Drought tolerant once established.

Red flowers, non-fragrant

Pet safe, non-toxic



This October Glory Red Maple will come in a 1 Gallon pot.

Size: Mature size can reach 40'-50' high x 35' wide

Light: Full sun to part shade

Hardiness zone: 3 - 9

Characteristics: Grows in an oval to rounded shape with green trilobed leaves that turn bright orange to red in the fall. Produces conspicuous red blooms that mature into red tinged winged seeds and fruits that attract birds and wildlife.

Growth Rate: Moderate to fast

Soil, Water, Fertilize: Moist, acidic, well draining soil. Keep soil moist but not soggy. Prefers slightly acidic soil. Fertilize once before planting if needed.

*We cannot send plants to Alaska or Hawaii.

*Plants ship dormant in winter months.

*Pictures shown are of mature plants.

Best to plant in spring or fall to encourage root growth, but if extreme temperatures aren't an issue, can be planted all year round.

Pruning is not necessary but can be done for maintenance whilst in dormancy.

Provide regular watering during the first year of planting.

Plants arrived half dead

Trying to bring these trees back to life. They were not healthy when arrived.

Thank you for reaching out. I’d like to clarify that the trees you received are currently dormant, which is completely normal for this time of year and noted in our product listing. During autumn, trees naturally shed their leaves and prepare for winter dormancy, which can sometimes make them appear less vibrant.

Please rest assured that we thoroughly inspect all trees before shipping to ensure they are healthy. However, if you have concerns, we are more than happy to assist you.

One way to confirm the health of your trees is to perform a quick scratch test. Here's how:

Select a small branch or the main stem of the tree.
Gently scrape away a tiny bit of the bark with your fingernail or a small knife.
If the layer underneath is green and moist, the tree is alive and well. If it’s brown and dry, that part of the tree may not be viable.

So far so good!

They came in gorgeous! And I was shocked how fast delivery was! I got them for my twins who were born in October. Hopefully they will all grow big and strong:)
