The Yates apple tree is very easy to grow and a favorite for wildlife. It is a small apple but a heavy producer that ripens in late September to mid October. It is good for applesauce as well as baking.
The Yates apple tree is a heavy bearing apple; it is self-pollinating and a good pollinator for most apples. Can benefit from having other apple trees or crabapples nearby to cross-pollinate for a more bountiful harvest.
