Sassafras Tree - Sassafras albidum is a lovely, deciduous, North American native tree recognized for its beautiful autumn color display, unique foliage shape and aromatic smell. Displays lush bright to medium bright green leaves with a unique three-lobe shape. In autumn their foliage ranges from colors of yellow, orange, scarlet, and purple. Grows small inconspicuous yellow flowers in spring and yields small dark blue fruit in the fall. Attracts pollinators, birds and other wildlife due to its fruit and wonderful aroma. Is hardy and very easy to grow, grows in moist, well-draining or sandy, loamy soils and tolerant of a variety soil types. 

Full sun to partial sun.

Attracts birds, bees and butterflies.

Native to North America

Yellow flowers, non-fragrant

The tree I ordered...

The tree I ordered arrived promptly in excellent condition. This plant was packaged for shipping better than any similar live plant that I have ever ordered from ANY other nursery...hands down! As a result, I have high hopes for it's over-winter survival and spring growth. Time will tell, but, I'm convinced that the TLC shown by the vendor will definitely give it the advantage.
