The Sambucus Canadensis -Ā American Elderberry, also called common elderberry, is a native deciduous shrub with bright white flower clusters followed by small, round, dark purple, almost black drupes that areĀ edible only when ripe.Ā The elderberry contains a high amount of vitamin C and is excellent for pies, syrups, wines, etc.
