Chaenomeles Speciosa 'Cameo' - 'Cameo' Flowering Quince is a is a deciduous, compact, multi-stemmed, low growing flowering shrub with peachy blooms. Blooms are showy, textured blooms with multiple layers of petals that appear on old growth in early spring and persists through summer. The branches are decorated with oval to oblong shaped leaves, soft apricot- blush shade blooms in the Spring and no thorns! This is one of the first burst of colors as buds begin to bloom in early spring. Soon after, new foliage emerges a red tinted shade that later emerge to a glossy, dark green in Summer. Small yellowish-green drupes begin to appear in late Summer and can develop red tinged once matured in Autumn.

Full sun to partial sun.

Attracts birds, bees and butterflies.

Drought tolerant once established.

Orange flowers, non-fragrant

    Size: Mature size can reach up to 3'ft in height & 5'ft wide.

    Light: Full to partial sun.

    Hardiness Zone: 5 - 9

    Characteristics: Grows in a thorn-less, rounded, dense shape with spreading branches decorated with oblong green foliage and soft apricot- blush shade blooms in early spring. Attracts birds and wildlife.

    Growth Rate: Moderate

    Soil, Water, Fertilize: Average, well draining soil with the pH 3.7 - 7.0. Tolerant to deer. Regular watering is recommended in areas with drought/extreme heat. All purpose fertilize. Pruning recommended when flowering season has concluded.

    *Plants cannot be shipped to Alaska or Hawaii.

    *Plants ship dormant in winter months.

    Flowers bloom on old growth, prune after flowering to encourage growth on flowering spurs.

    Remove suckers to control spread.

    Branches can be cut and forced to bloom indoors.
