The Hosta 'Christmas Tree' is a striking perennial renowned for its lush, heart-shaped leaves and distinctive variegation. The foliage features deep green centers bordered by creamy white margins, which may occasionally streak toward the leaf center. The leaves are heavily corrugated and have a substantial texture, contributing to the plant's slug resistance .

In mid to late summer, the plant produces pale lavender, bell-shaped flowers on scapes that rise above the foliage. These blooms are followed by attractive reddish-purple seed pods, adding seasonal interest .

The plant's name, 'Christmas Tree,' is inspired by its pyramidal growth habit and the occasional presence of vestigial leaves on the flower scapes, which can resemble a decorated tree .
