Halcyon is one of the most popular of the blue hosta cultivar. Halcyon feature a mound of flat, spear-shaped, heavily textured blue green leaves. Bell-shaped, pale lilac shaded flowers grow on 26” scapes. Dense foliage crowds out most garden weeds.
Hostas are herbaceous perennial plants. These plants provide a focal point when using in landscapes and gardens. Hostas are known as the best shade loving plants for the garden. Large leaves provide excellent coverage for dying foliage. With their subtle colors, tall flower scapes and broad leafs bring versatility in the landscape.
Divide plants in late summer or early spring. Division should have at least 3 eyes. Allow several years before being divided.
Tip: Potted dormant perennials can be kept in a well-lit cool/cold area (ie. Garage, shed, even in a protected area outdoors) until ready for spring planting. Do not allow them to completely dry out.
