The Paeonia Lactiflora - Peony, also referred to as 'Chinese Peony', is an herbaceous perennial with zone hardiness from 3-8. Has dark green, ribbed, lance shaped leaves and fragrant, double blooming petals in layers of varying in colors like whites, yellow, reds and pinks. Each spring, new deep emerald green leaves emerge, creating a lush, large busy mound lasting well throughout fall. Followed by large, full, petals in layers of colors from mid to late-season. Flowers attract bees and butterflies to pollinator gardens or be cut for floral arrangements. Depending on the variety, the blooms can sometimes be so large the stalks can't support them without stakes or fencing to support the flowers and keep them from drooping.
