
Sassafras Tree - Sassafras albidum is a lovely, deciduous, North American native tree recognized for its beautiful autumn color display, unique foliage shape and aromatic smell. Displays lush bright to medium bright green leaves with a unique three-lobe shape. In autumn their foliage ranges from colors of yellow, orange, scarlet, and purple. Grows small inconspicuous yellow flowers in spring and yields small dark blue fruit in the fall. Attracts pollinators, birds and other wildlife due to its fruit and wonderful aroma. Is hardy and very easy to grow, grows in moist, well-draining or sandy, loamy soils and tolerant of a variety soil types.
