The Malus Pumila 'Fuji' - 'Fuji' apple are widely known for their finely textured, crisp, juicy flesh and sugary sweet taste. Produces medium to large size fruit with lightly blushed red skin lined with vertical red stripes. This cultivar is a result of crossing the Red Delicious and the Virginia Ralls Janet apples. During the springtime, this tree blooms small white to pink flowers. This tree is self-fertile but improves harvest when planted with other varieties to be cross-pollinated. Some options would be Gala, Red Delicious, and Golden Delicious. Fruit begins to ripen and is ready to harvest in mid-October. Normally used in baking or cider but fresh is always an option.
Attracts birds, bees and butterflies.
