The Malus Domestica - 'Granny Smith' apples are a classic favorite for its crisp bite and sweet-tart flavor. Produces large green apples with white speckles and firm, creamy white flesh. During the springtime, this tree blooms small white flowers. Normally used in baking or cider but fresh is always an option. This tree does seem to hold onto its fruits rather than dropping them to the ground, so not only you but other wildlife can enjoy its freshness. This fruit can stay fresh up to six months in fridge

Growth Rate: Medium to fast.

Soil, Water, Fertilize: Moist, well-draining soil with the pH 6.0 - 7.0. Tolerant to drought, heat and colder temperatures. Prune in late winter to promote growth and shape the tree. Fertilize in early spring.

Susceptibility: Mites, aphids, scale, apple maggots and deer.
