The Malus Domestica ‘Cripps Pink’ - Pink Lady apple tree is a result of crossing a Golden Delicious with the Lady Williams. This striking pink apple with a distinct crisp tartness and aromatic, sweet subtle flavor came into production in Australia under the trademarked name "Cripps Pink", after the developer, John Cripps. With heavy crop yields and low chill requirements this early fruiting apple tree is hard to resist. Blossoms are creamy white/pale pink and delicate appearing in early spring with the fruit ripening in October to November. This variety does need to be pollinated by another kind in order to produce fruit, like the Winesap, Gala, Jonathan, Fuji, Red Delicious, Honey Crisp, McIntosh, Golden Delicious or Granny Smith. Used mostly for fresh eating, baking, canning, as well as jellies and preserves. Can be refrigerated for up to 6 weeks.
